Twitter, which earlier this year struck a deal to stream NFL Thursday Night Football games, is continuing to refine its own video game, this week announcing it would allow users to tweet 140-second-long videos, up for the 30-second limit it started with.
In a blog post, Jeremy Rishel head of product development for creators at Twitter, wrote that video tweets on the platform had increased 50% since the start of 2016, and said the ability to tweet longer videos would initially be available on iOS, Twitter for Android, and at twitter.com, adding that Twitter for Mac and Twitter for Windows would follow.
Some creators will continue to have a 10 minute video limit.
And, Rishel wrote, Vine videos also may be getting longer, up to 140 seconds max from their current six seconds, initially for select creators only.
