Canada’s VMedia has launched a live liner play of Roku, giving consumers access to 20 live TV channels, including Canadian and U.S. networks such as CTV, CBC, GLOBAL, ICI, TVA and V, as well as CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and PBS, all in HD and streamed to their TVs.

The streamed skinny bundle – after a seven-day free trial – will cost $18/mo., about the same as several U.S. operators are charging for a similar streamed package.

AOL is partnering with Omnicrom to roll out a self-serve programmatic TV buying module, an extension of its TV managed module that launched in 2014, that gives brands a DIY option for purchasing national ads on linear TV. The new software gives agencies more control over the data they use and money they spend.

With its Netflix, Hulu and Tribune Media Co. deals all approaching expiration, CW is likely the next network to be going over the top.

A report this week in Bloomberg cites anonymous sources as saying the network’s owners, Time Warner and CBS, may make the channel, which has a strong following among younger viewers, into a hybrid, offering a live streaming version as well as a traditional broadcast channel.
