Ubiquitous high-speed Internet will make ‘multi-subscription’ homes common

Multiple subscriptions for premium video content in households will increasingly become the norm as more consumers add supplemental services to their pay-TV subscriptions, new research suggests. 

Deloitte predicts that this year more than 50 million homes will have multiple subscriptions, a traditional pay-TV platform, and an additional SVOD service through their pay-TV service. More than 10 million additional homes will add services through broadband providers.

Hulu adds new kids content in battle for younger viewers... and their parents

Hulu is adding a little more candy to its kids' offerings, making a non-exclusive deal with multimedia education company Scholastic Media for a raft of over-the-top video.

The agreement brings Scholastic Media’s popular TV shows The Baby-Sitters ClubI SPY and the animated version of Horrible Histories to Hulu Plus subscribers.

Recently hired Top Huluite Mike Hopkins today reported the numbers in a blog post that also highlighted the fact that close to half of those Hulu Plus subs stream to devices, which is a heck of an achievement for a service that used to be tied to laptops and desktops.
