Connected CE devices in Western Europe in 57% of households

More than half (57%) of broadband households in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and France own at least one CE device connected to the Internet, a new survey shows.

Consumer researcher Parks Associates also reported that 45% of broadband households in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and France have a smart TV.

Pay-TV adoption, meanwhile, is highest in Germany, where 87% of broadband households subscribe, followed by France (75%), the United Kingdom (74%) and Spain (50%).

In the U.K., more than 33% of broadband households used the iPlayer online video service in the past 30 days.

“Service providers and OEMs continue to introduce new offerings in Europe, bringing new value propositions and driving increased adoption and future purchase intentions of smart home and connected CE devices,” said Stuart Sikes, president, Parks Associates.
