Mountain View, CA., April 23, 2009 - Ooyala, a leading online video provider, and IMG Fashion Media are proud to announce that Model.Live has been nominated for the Best Reality Series in the 13th Annual Webby Awards. Model.Live is an interactive online video series produced and created by IMG Fashion Media and Vogue.TV. Ooyala provided the online video platform that enabled IMG Fashion Media to stream the broadband video series in high quality to viewers worldwide.

Model.Live documents the lives of three models on their way to fashion shows around the world. Using Ooyala's online video platform, IMG Fashion Media was able to create a customized viewing experience, increasing the level of engagement and viewership throughout the entire series. Ooyala Backlot's sophisticated controls provided IMG with the flexibility and scalability needed to produce an award winning series.
"We went through a lot of effort to make Model.Live look beautiful and with Ooyala, that quality carried through to the viewer. Plus, Ooyala`s comprehensive reporting empowered us to adjust our production approach in real time," said Russell Quy, Executive Producer of Model.Live.
The series is also available on Bebo, a global social media network; viewers were able to interact with the models and receive instant updates on their activities. Ooyala's external publishing controls made it very simple for IMG Fashion Media to distribute content to large video entertainment sites. Bebo, also an Ooyala customer, was able to showcase the content using a custom MRSS feed provided by Ooyala.
"IMG's content, Bebo's distribution network and Ooyala's video publishing platform brought a brilliant series to millions of viewers. This is an example of how online video can reach a large and extremely targeted user base," said Bismarck Lepe, CEO of Ooyala.
