Ooyala to Power Honeyshed's Video Experience
29 January 2009
Mountain View, CA., January 29, 2009 - Honeyshed, an interactive shopping test site owned by Publicis, is using Ooyala Inc., a leading global online video service provider, to power its online video initiatives across its corporate website and syndication network. Honeyshed is expected to be one of the first businesses to redefine advertising through the use of promotional video content, often referred to by media as "MTV meets QVC." Ooyala Backlot provides Honeyshed with the infrastructure and products to easily brand and publish advertising-based content.
Using Backlot, Honeyshed is streaming promotional content for brands such as Sephora, Nike and Volvo on www.honeyshed.com. Ooyala's platform offers intelligent APIs and robust branding controls to customize the appearance of the video player for seamless integration into any existing Web environment. With built-in auto-syndication controls via Backlot, Honeyshed is able to instantly syndicate content to larger networks. Currently, Honeyshed is using auto-syndication to distribute content to Glam Network, also one of Ooyala's customers.
Ooyala's sophisticated technology fosters an ecosystem that brings together content owners, advertisers, and publishers. With simple controls, content can be easily shared, monetized, and optimized. Ooyala continues to build features that focus on making businesses profitable through online video.
"In a world of fragmented audiences, the only way to reach broadcast-like scale is to leverage the exposure a network provides on hundreds - even thousands of sites. Honeyshed brings the content - Glam brings the reach and Ooyala brings it all together with a fantastic user experience," stated Bismarck Lepe, CEO of Ooyala.
Under the terms of the deal, Honeyshed is leveraging the Ooyala platform for content management, encoding, publishing and syndication for all digital properties.
Honeyshed is a partnership between New York agency Droga5, Los Angeles production company Smuggler and global advertising conglomerate the Publicis Groupe.
Ooyala is a leading video technology company that provides a comprehensive suite of publishing, analytics, and monetization capabilities.
